Music is the breath of today’s generation – whether you are working, travelling, cooking or studying, the earphones of the music player are plugged in the ears of music lovers every time. And when music is being talked about then iPod is one of the obvious names that comes up in the mind. In fact iPod has become the synonym for music nowadays.

People customize and store their favorite collection of songs on this iPod device to cherish them according to highs and lows of their mood all day long. But what if the music player refuses to play a song track or starts showing some error when you request to play a video? Such a scenario can be better understood by considering a real-life situation.

Consider a scenario, where a user opens the iPod Nano to listen to the songs and suddenly an error pops up saying ‘Use iTunes to restore’ or ‘Connect to your computer. Use iTunes to restore’. In such erroneous situation it is better to tackle the problem at your end first. Like in the above scenario, first of all you must connect your iPod to your computer. Depending upon the Operating systems which you are using, following error messages are encountered after setting up connection with the computer:

For MAC Operating System:
On connecting the iPod with the computer having MAC operating system, the error message saying, “iTunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode. You must restore this iPod before it can be used with iTunes.” pops up.

For Windows Operating System:
On connecting the iPod device with the computer having Windows operating system the error message saying, Your iPod needs to be reformatted for use with Windows. Would you like to run iTunes to restore your iPod now?” pops up.

In case these dialog boxes do not appear after connecting the iPod device to the computer then check whether the latest version of iTunes is installed on your system or not. If not, then do install the latest version of iTunes first. Moving ahead, click ‘OK’ button on the dialog box thereafter the dialog box provides the option of either ‘Update’ or ‘Restore’ your iPod device. Choose and click the ‘Restore’ button. After the restoration process gets completed if the iPod device is still displaying the same error then another repair solution must be looked for. One more thing that can be done is ‘Reset the iPod’. Restore the device in iTunes after choosing reset on iPod.

However, if none above solution turns out to be fruitful then you must repair your iPod. The simplest way to do it on your own is by using iPod recovery software. One of the proficient tools for it is Kernel Recovery for iPod. It is a wondrous utility that handles all erroneous situations of iPods such as frozen iPod, iPod sad face icon, iPod exclamation mark, bad iTunes auto-sync, etc. efficiently.
